And it all started with a librarian.

In the early 1980s, Janice Anderson took her degree in library and information sciences and went to work for Brown & Root Engineering. She was charged with managing vast volumes of information for some of the world’s largest construction projects — on a global scale.

 

It didn’t take her long to recognize that what was needed was a better way for companies like Brown & Root to better manage and govern their information. So, she did the right thing: She quit. And started us. Access Sciences.

 

For more than three decades, we’ve enjoyed consistent success and growth by keeping one simple goal in front of us: taming information chaos to extract the most value from any client’s information assets. That goal, and that success, is a gift from one very smart librarian.

Our Roots

Access Sciences was founded in 1985 by Janice Anderson to fill an emerging need for information management and governance expertise. While our experience and expertise have expanded far beyond this initial area, we have stayed true to our principles and continue to be recognized as thought leaders in information management.

Today, we combine our experience with strategy, business processes, technology, governance, and change management to create intelligent information management solutions and provide best-in-class managed services, with a focus on the midmarket, Global 2000, and large government agencies.

Access Sciences’ Global Outreach Team exists to provide hands-on service to our local communities across the nation. In light of our company’s focus on information, we’ve adopted reading and literacy as our outreach emphasis, and support causes such as: The Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation, Knock-Knock Children’s Museum, Start Making A Reader Today (SMART), and others.
