Cohasset and ARMA International released the results from their seventh, bi-annual survey of professionals concerning their Records and Information Management practices.  The majority of parpticipants in the 2011 survey classify their job function as Records Management (76%).  I previously blogged about the 2009 survey results (see blog posting at this link.)

I came across a recent study by IBM Research that asks “Am I wasting my time organizing email? A study of email refinding”.  The study of 345 users was contrasting the results of finding emails later between 2 groups of users - those who spend considerable effort creating folder structures and filing emails and those who rely on the alternative methods of finding emails such as search and threading.

We've all seen the blog posts, tweets and reminiscences, telling tales of how exotic and different SharePoint is from other systems. Difficult to manage, hard to understand, impossible to tame. While these statements do show up in tech circles, it is very common for non-technologists, non-IT folks, to recount them. But are they fair characterizations?
