Access Sciences Corporation Partners with Cogniva
Industry leaders work together to maximize client benefit across North America
Houston, TX, April 10, 2012—Access Sciences Corporation, a leading information management and technology consulting firm headquartered in Houston, Texas, is pleased to announce it has signed a partnership agreement with Canadian firm Cogniva. This partnership will enable Access Sciences’ customers to gain exposure to a new, innovative approach to managing their valuable information assets.
Access Sciences intends to utilize Cogniva’s flagship solution, the ISIS Enterprise Suite. ISIS (Integrated Semantic Information Services) is an add-on to content creation and organization systems such as SharePoint, Open Text ECM Suite 2010, Documentum, MS Office, and other systems using structured data. ISIS leverages a coherent, enterprise-wide information architecture to make an organization’s information lifecycle management transparent to the end user, improving compliance and increasing information reuse.
Yves Marleau, President of Cogniva says, ‘’Access Sciences’ expertise is a natural fit to fully leverage the ISIS Enterprise Suite capabilities. We have developed a strategic partnership with a firm that is well-respected within the industry, one who we believe to be an ideal contributor to our approach.”
ISIS links unstructured information, structured information, and tacit knowledge within an organization. It integrates file plans, thesauri, metadata standards, taxonomies, and business processes to describe the business meaning and context of information assets, enabling term localization, improved findability, knowledge management, and automated classification.
Janice Anderson, CEO of Access Sciences says, “ISIS provides a starting taxonomy framework and a methodology that we can put to work for our clients with some built-in governance. Once implemented successfully, our clients should have the independence to manage their own taxonomy across system platforms going forward.”
According to Anne Tulek, the Access Sciences President, “ISIS also makes it possible to have a common user interface for the tagging and viewing of documents, emails, reports, and all other unstructured content, regardless of which back-end system the information lives in individually.”
Cogniva delivers products and services that help organizations better describe, organize, and manage corporate information and knowledge. www.cognivasolutions.com
