Hello!
by Kathy JordanI am the Director of the ECRM Business Consulting Services practice at Access Sciences. In ECRM Business Consulting, we design information architecture components, such as taxonomies and metadata models, and we create policies, processes, and other governance structures necessary to implement and maintain those components. We build for the enterprise and can implement down to the work group or department. We work closely with the subject matter experts from our Technology, Legal, and Organization Transformation practice areas so that the solutions we propose are integrated – not just a retention schedule but also a training and communications plan for rollout and expertise on how to implement the schedule in an ECM/ERM solution. (If you have small children, think “Team work” from The Wonder Pets.)
Our high-level goal in ECRM Business Consulting is to enable collaboration while supporting compliance. This translates to three primary objectives: 1.) help you manage your information more efficiently so you can make better business decisions (“the right information at the right time”); 2.) help you achieve compliance with internal and external standards; and 3.) support you in your operate and maintain phase. The focus in all three is on you and your organization so the approach and solution will vary based on your need!
Prior to joining Access Sciences, I worked in a variety of traditional and nontraditional library settings and I bring many valuable lessons from that work with me. So much of my work focused on the user – how the user accesses information and the effect of this on how information should be organized and presented back. This has stayed with me as a cornerstone in solution design.
Away from work, I am an avid reader – although lately a lot more Mo Willems than Ian McEwan –, gardener, and lover of anything outdoors.
